Healthy ageing is at the core of our SmartFit philosophy.

Through group classes and private sessions, the SmartFit team work with clients to achieve and maintain a good level of health and fitness through their youth and beyond. Time and time again, we have witnessed the positive difference that a more active lifestyle can have on individuals’ ability to perform everyday movements with ease and free from pain. And we want you to experience it for yourself.

Our new series of Age Strong classes are designed to help you do exactly that.

Age Strong Reformer Pilates & Mat Pilates

Pilates has long since been heralded as a fantastic form of exercise for co-ordination, flexibility, posture, mobility and strength. Learning to isolate movements and focus on your body alignment is key for supporting healthy ageing, and these specialist classes place more emphasis on this than ever before.

Both the reformer and mat classes are designed to be low impact, meaning they’re suitable for anyone with spine or joint issues, and are gentle on the heart too.

Age Strong KinetiCube

The KinetiCube is a one-of-a-kind piece of workout equipment designed by our owner and master trainer to bridge the gap between Pilates, physiotherapy and functional fitness.

These guided weight training classes will see you build strength, stability and mobility, while learning to master basic fundamental movements that you use in everyday life. The addition of weights and resistance means you will quickly see yourself progress, and give you a real feeling of accomplishment.

Age Strong Mobility & Balance

This is a brand new, low-impact workout that focuses on moving with the breath and a series of Pilates exercises designed to improve your mobility and balance.

The class is mat-based and uses a variety of basic Pilates equipment. It can be easily adapted both for beginners and those with a little more experience, so is open to all levels.

Age Strong Pilates-Infused Yoga

Enjoy a mindful practice that incorporates both Pilates and yoga movements in this gentle but effective class, specifically designed to support healthy ageing. Helping to improve flexibility and mobility, Age Strong Pilates-Infused Yoga is ideal for anyone seeking to quieten the chatter in the mind, and take some time out for themselves.

It’s also a great choice as a break from more strenuous exercise to ensure you are stretching out tired muscles.
