FUNCTIONAL TRAINING
Work toward a specific health or aesthetic goal through private sessions dedicated to functional training, guided by one of our highly-qualified instructors. This can take the form of:
A rehabilitative programme emphasising stretching and strengthening to correct imbalances, and re-train the muscles to hold the body in optimal alignment. Depending on your condition, your instructor may also work with you to strengthen the local stabiliser muscles to hold the proper distance between the articular surfaces of the joints. Through a combination of functional exercises and Pilates, you’ll learn to move correctly, find relief from pain and understand your body better; all while minimising any excessive loading of articular surfaces of joints.
A gradual transition from stability exercises to mobility and light to heavy load, as well as working to improve core strength, stability, agility and flexibility.
Functional training with complicated compound movements that require agility and progressive load increase. These are ideal for sport-specific or targeted training as well as those looking to increase muscle mass. Your body is sure to ache the next day but your body and goals will thank you!

Our SmartFit instructors are here to help challenge, motivate and educate you on how to become the best version of yourself. Private Sessions will be tailored to you, ensuring you get the most from your workout and can utilise a variety of equipment including the TRX and Reformer. Alternatively, keep mixing up your workout schedule with different Group Classes such as Athletic Conditioning, Full Body Burn (Reformer HIIT) and Full Body Challenge (Reformer & TRX) to ensure you’re ticking all the boxes for cardiovascular exercise, strength-building and improving flexibility.

FUNCTIONAL AGEING
SmartFit Private Sessions focused on fitness for ageing place an emphasis on balance training, therapeutic exercise and muscle and joint health. Ideal for men and women aged 45+, you require no prior knowledge to take part. Our experienced instructors will use a variety of STOTT PILATES® equipment to guide you through a progressive, safe and engaging session that is tailored to you. If you prefer exercising in a group, our Reformer Beginner or Pilates Mat sessions would work well - focusing on your balance, concentration, strength and flexibility all at once. Our Group Classes are always small, meaning you’re guaranteed to get the personal attention that you need.
