NEW Group Class: Pilates-Infused Yoga

With the arrival of a fabulous new instructor Hui Lin, the SmartFit team are happy to announce an equally fabulous new group class: PILATES-INFUSED YOGA!

This STOTT Pilates-Infused Yoga class combines the best of both mindful practices. Expect the core integration and stabilisation of postural muscles that you’ll be familiar with from Pilates, as well as the stretch and mindfulness techniques of yoga. The class will focus on movement with the breath, plus flexibility, strength and stability, making it ideal for both fans of yoga and lovers of Pilates.

I already do Pilates - why should I attend this class?

It’s great that you’re already doing Pilates! This class will help to add mindfulness into your weekly regime. Given how busy our lifestyles are today, taking time for yourself to reconnect and find balance, could not be more important. Like Pilates, yoga places vital importance on the breath. This class is made up of a series of flowing movements that focus on the breath and aim to strengthen both body and mind.

I’m new to yoga and/or Pilates…

No prior experience of yoga or Pilates is necessary, as the Pilates-Infused Yoga classes are open to all levels. All we ask for is an open mind and positive energy! It’s a fantastic class for anyone who is interested in exploring yoga, Pilates or both.

How will I feel after the class?

Pilates-Infused Yoga is a workout that incorporates mindfulness, so you can expect to feel lighter, more balanced and more connected physically and mentally.

How often will these classes be held?

Every Tuesday at 3.30pm there will be a mobility-focused Pilates-Infused Yoga class followed by a core-focused Pilates-Infused Yoga class at 4.30pm. On Thursdays, there will be a mobility-focused Pilates-Infused Yoga class at 1.30pm and the core-focused version at 3.30pm. You can book any of these classes here.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

All mats and other equipment are provided in the studio. There is also water for you to help yourself to. Please wear comfortable clothing and grippy Pilates socks (available for purchase in the studio).
